Long have we wondered what spectacle we would all behold when witnessing two of the most polarizing Presidential candidates in U.S. history finally meet on the debate stage. After a year-long build up, the anticipation, vitriol, and back and forth through the media between the two nominees finally culminated into a heated performance with many fiery exchanges throughout the course of the night. The first Presidential debate of 2016 took place at Hofstra University in Hempstead NY in what was the “most watched debate in U.S. history” according to CNN Money CNN Money debate viewership.
What seemed to be an even debate at times, ended with a rollercoaster of a performance for the Republican firebrand. At times, Trump had very strong, decisive moments on issues like the economy, trade and National security, while at others found himself on the defensive fumbling through words trying to defend the onslaught of name calling, accusations and mud-slinging that was more reminiscent of a WWE tag team match between Hillary Clinton and “NBC Nightly News” anchor Lester Holt, than a fairly moderated, unbiased debate. What was even more surprising was the post-debate polling numbers, showing Donald Trump winning the debate on just about every National poll.
Below are some of the National poll debate figures by some of the most popular political media sites in the Country. Click the links below to view for yourself.
With an overwhelmingly clear victory for Trump throughout the National post-debate polls, it is yet to be seen how their first debate affected their actual poll numbers Nationally.
